CERN to Collaborate with IIT-M for its Experiment

IIT-Madras (IIT-M) is all set collaborate with CERN, a European research organization, to help it to again collect data from March 2015 for its discovery to find Higgs Boson a.k.a the god particle. Higgs Boson is a discovery by the prestigious Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment at CERN.  The Organization will have first IIT on board along with other reputed institutions like TIFR, BARC etc.

Maharashtra State Board Brings New Rules for Passing in School Examination

Those students, who will give away their 10th or 12th standard examinations in February-March 2016, would have to face the new tougher passing rules taken up by the Maharashtra State Board. According to the new rule the students would now have to score the written exam cut off of 20% (at least 16 marks in an 80 marks written question paper) marks along with the 35% marks in aggregate to pass in a certain subject.

Education Loan Interest of SC/ST Students to be Reimbursed by Government

In a circular from the Indian Banks Association (IBA), the central government has asked all the banks to submit their claims for interest subsidy on educational loans taken up by the students who belong to scheduled cast or scheduled tribe communities. Under the scheme that would subsidize the interest, the central government would reimburse the banks the interest that is due on the loan amount till the end of one year from the date of completion of the course.

India sent over 1 lakh students to US in 2013-14 and remained at the second spot in terms of number of students in US.

Government to Reduce Upper Age limit for Civil Service Aspirants

The Government of India has reduced the upper age limit and the number of attempts for each applicant for appearing in the civil service examination. The new norm has set the upper age limit by 26 years for unreserved, 28 years for OBC and 29 years for SC/ST candidates. The new norm will come into force from 2015 for all Civil Service Examinations.
