Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) invited applications for inclusion of 46 Category- II Stipendiary Trainees in 4 disciples in BARC, Mysore/Mumbai. Eligible candidates can apply till 01 January 2013

+ ITI certificate in Chemical Plant Operation + ITI / NCTVT (2 years duration)

2 Fitter

HSC (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects) / SSC with minimum

60% marks + ITI certificate in Fitter + ITI / NCTVT (2 years duration)

OR

one year ITI with one year relevant experience after completion of the course.

3 Electrical

HSC (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects) / SSC with minimum

60% marks + ITI certificate in Electrical + ITI / NCTVT (2 years duration)

OR

one year ITI with one year relevant experience after completion of the course.

4 Electronics

HSC (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects) / SSC with minimum

60% marks + ITI certificate in Electronics + ITI / NCTVT (2 years duration)

OR

one year ITI with one year relevant experience after completion of the course.

NOTE:
Candidates who have passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can also apply for the post of Chemical Plant Operator.

Candidates applying for Category-II Fitter may also be considered for Chemical Plant Operator.

Duration of Training: 2 years.

Stipend:  Rs.6200 p.m. (for 1st year);
              Rs.7200 p.m. (for 2nd year);
(One time book allowance of Rs.1500)  

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2013):  
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum:
22 years

(Maximum age limit relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates and up to 3 years for OBC candidates)

Physical Standards:  
Minimum Height: 160 cms.
Minimum Weight: 45.5 Kgs.

(Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit)

Selection Procedure: Final selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview.
However, only those candidates who will qualify the written examination will be called for interview.

Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a one hour Written Examination that will comprise of objective type multiple choice questions. The syllabus for said examination will be based on subjects at SSC / HSC / ITI level as the case may be.  Those candidates qualifying in the Written Examination shall be short listed for interview on the same day / following day.
Candidates can answer the questions either in English or Hindi both in the Written Examination and the Interview.

In case the response is high, BARC reserve the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for Written Examination, to higher percentage of marks in the requisite qualification and / or to conduct screening test of the eligible candidates.

Selected candidates will be given training at Mysore on various aspects of the relevant trades. On successful completion of training, the trainees will be considered for absorption in one of the following grades depending on their performance during the period of training and interview to be held at the end of the training.  Based on the performance during the training additional increments may also be given on appointment.

In addition to the normal pay and allowances viz., House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible under the Rules, the Department of Atomic Energy  (DAE) employees are entitled to attractive financial benefits under various incentive schemes.   

Bond: Selected candidates will have to execute a bond to complete the training and serve BARC or any of the constituent Units of DAE, if offered appointment after the training, for a period of 4 years after absorption.  

Travelling Allowance: SC/ST candidates called for interview to be held in Mysore will be paid Travelling Allowances.
However, TA is not admissible to those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Government services, Central/State Government Corporation, Public Sector Undertakings Local Government Institutions and Panchayats.

How to Apply:
Application in the given proforma along with copies of all the required documents should be sent to the “Administrative Officer-III, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Post Bag No. 01, Yelwal Post, Mysore-571 130” so as to reach the office on or before 01 January 2013.  

The Application and the outer cover should be super scribed as “Application for Stipendiary Trainees Category-II Discipline ____________________ against Advertisement No. 01/2012”.

• Only one application should be submitted for one post.  If a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post, separate application should be submitted for each discipline.
• Candidates coming for 2 day Written Examination and Interview will have to bear the cost of stay in Mysore.
• Place of posting will be at the discretion of the Competent Authority and subject to availability of vacancy. Selected candidates are likely to be posted at BARC, Mysore/Mumbai, but are liable to serve in any part of India and in any constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy.
• The nature of duty involves working in round the clock shifts in operational plants and areas.
