As per this facility, the applicants will be able to edit and correct the mistakes made in the process of filling up the CAT application form. The window for the Limited edit option stands open from September 27 till September 30.

So, before you start exploring the Limited edit option launched by CAT exam organiser, let us help you understand a few aspects of this facility. Here are a few FAQs that will help you understand the relevance and usage of this option.

What is Limited edit option?

IIM Lucknow has opened ‘Limited edit option’ 2 days after the closing of the application process i.e. was closed on September 25. This option allows all the CAT applicants to edit the limited errors (done while filling up their CAT 2017 registration and application form) for a limited period of time. This indicates that you cannot touch upon all the information filled by you. Only a limited score and details can be tweaked in the CAT application form.

The error correction facility was first launched n 2016 when IIM Bangalore conducted CAT Exam. This year, IIM Lucknow maintained the legacy of providing the facility to the CAT aspirants and helping them correct errors in the CAT application form.

How many times you can access this option?

Both CAT website and IIM Lucknow (i.e. CAT Exam convener) have not made it clear whether candidate are allowed to login for multiple times to complete and edit the application form or not. The fact remains unclear as of now whether limited period application correction of errors window will allow you to rectify the errors more than once.

Why Limited edit option facility?

CAT registrations were supposed to close on September 20. But due to influx of high number of candidates during the last dates, the registration date was extended for 5 more days i.e. September 25, till 5:00 p.m. As the registration date count have been extended further, Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, IIM Lucknow, CAT exam convener clarified that instead of making a hurried step for CAT 2017 registration a few minutes before the closing time it will be better to make changes in the form at a later stage in another window. This facility will allow the candidates to submit error free CAT registration form without any last minute hassles.
