Doon Girl, Sheetal Bisht’s Dreams Transformed into Reality

Graphic Era University DehradunThe success of Sheetal Bisht, an Alma Mater of B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering at Graphic Era University, has become an exemplary example of breaking down barriers to achieve one’s true aspirations- she not only brought laurels to her family and her university but also to the entire state of Uttarakhand by becoming a scientist at ISRO.

Sheetal traces her roots to Pauri’s Baghwan Malla village of Gagwadasyu block. Her father Santosh Kumar Bisht is an ex-army man while her mother Anjana Bisht is a housewife.

Sheetal’s happiness knew no bounds as she began her journey to join the prestigious Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to work as a scientist and further aid in the noble cause of nation building.

Sheetal has done B.Tech in Computer Science from Graphic Era University located in Uttarakhand, Dehradun. Her dreams of joining ISRO started at an early age when during her B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering Studies, she gave the ICRB exam of ISRO- and her awe in learning that she achieved success in the first attempt itself!

She has joined ISRO recently and witnessed the historical launch of GSAT-9 from the control room. A simple girl with humble beginnings, tracing back to Pauri’sBaghwanMalla Village who then made a decision to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Graphic Era University, has indeed shown her true potential and has become an inspiration to one and all- making Dehradun proud!
