The Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will conduct Preliminary ARS Examination 2012 on 24 February 2013 from 2 pm to 4 pm. The test will be conducted for selecting candidates for appointment as Scientists in Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research at 33 centres across the nation.
ASRB has already sent admission certificate via email, as mentioned by the candidates in the application form, for the exam. In case a candidate does not receive admission certificate, he/she can download the admission certificate from the ICAR’s website from 15 February 2013.
Candidates should note that they will not be admitted to the Test unless they hold the admission Certificate to the Test. Moreover, ICAR or ASRB cannot be held responsible for non-receipt of the Admission certificate.
The Preliminary ARS Examination is a qualifying examination and candidates qualifying in the same will only be allowed to appear in the ARS – Main Examination. In addition, Candidates obtaining the minimum qualifying marks in ARS - Main examination will be called for Viva-Voce for the Agricultural Research Service. After the Viva-Voce the candidates will be arranged by the Board in the order of merit in each category (professional subject-wise) as disclosed by the aggregate marks finally awarded to each candidate.
Candidates who obtain such minimum aggregate marks in the written papers and Viva-Voce without fixing any minimum marks in Viva-Voce as may be fixed by the Board in their discretion shall be recommended for appointment to ARS in accordance with the number of vacancies intimated by the Council under each discipline.
The number of attempts however remains 4 for all candidates (whether MSc/PhD) for appearing in the Agricultural Research Service Examination including the in-service candidates of ICAR.
