GMAC collaborates with 9 leading B-schools of India to attract MBA aspirants worldwide

GMAC has collaborated with top 9 B-Schools of India with an aim to create an education hub in India by attracting the management degree aspirants worldwide. On the positive note, the premier management education council has partnered with three IIMs and other leading B - Schools.

It aims to achieve this mission by launching ‘Study in India’ initiative. As per the report released by GMAC, the initiative is has received support of Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.

Institutes on the ‘Go’

Leading B-schools such as IIMs, ISB, SPJIMR, XIMB, IMT has partnered in this initiative with GMAC. With an aim to open and establish study opportunities for international aspirants in top rated institutes of India.

List of 9 business schools associated under ‘Study in India’ initiative is as follows:

  1. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA)
  2. Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB)
  3. Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore)
  4. Indian School of Business (ISB)
  5. Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB)
  6. SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR)
  7. Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS)
  8. Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM)
  9. IMT Ghaziabad

About ‘Study in India’ initiative

The ‘Study in India’ initiative will bring bundle of joy for the Indian education Industry. It will promote diversity in the field of education that will further enhance overall class experience.

The initiative will rebuild India’s attractiveness as a study destination for higher education for the students of African, Middle Easters, and Southern and East Asian region.

In addition, GMAC has also included ‘Study in India’ link on its official Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam website i.e. mba.com. The website is referred frequently by international students who wish to pursue business management courses frequent. The website will put India on the forefront of the management education and will also help us gain the foothold globally.  

Experts and faculty of the participating institutes are also positive about the launch of this initiative in India. They hope that the initiative will deliver a promise for the MBA aspirants not only from India but also for the international students. They have shared their opinion as follows:

Dr. Shailesh Gandhi, Dean Programmes, IIM Ahmedabad mentioned that, "Study in India has been designed to encourage students in their professional journey and interact with their global counterparts. This initiative will prove to be an asset for the international participants as they will get exposed to world class pedagogy offered by IIM Ahmedabad."

Kamal K. Jain, Dean Academics, IIM Indore said, "Study in India will help in transforming the management education industry in India. Studying in one of the fastest growing economy in the world is on the radar of several aspirants world over. Study in India will be an authentic source of information for those aspirants. This is a unique opportunity for international students to be a part of a contextually-relevant business school with world-class academic standards that develops socially-conscious managers, leaders and entrepreneurs."

Associate Dean -School of Business Management, NMIMS University, Dr. Veena Vohra, said that, “The Study in India initiative has strengthened our partnership with GMAC, post NMAT by GMAC. We are happy that Study in India will help international students gain management expertise while studying in Indian Business Schools, just as they would in Business Schools globally. Learning experiences designed and delivered in India provide insights and perspective in managing and leading in developing economies. Study in India capitalises on this edge, and we see this leading to interesting academic and practice based conversations within our classrooms.”

Dean of SP Jain Institute of Management, Mr. Ranjan Banerjee has also commented that “The initiative is in line with our vision. A large part of learning is peer learning - and having a student body from multiple countries and cultures will enrich learning for both faculty and students.”
