Computer Based Test (MAT – 2016) is going to be held on 10th September 2016 at the specified test centers in 11 cities. Paper based MAT – 2016 was held on 4th September 2016. CBT will be totally based on the form & pattern of paper based test. As per officials’ syllabus and pattern for paper based and computer based are same, so to mingle with pattern and format of this test we need to see paper of MAT held on 4th September 2016.
As per the responses of the participants, paper based exam was of moderate difficulty level but there was some tricky questions from Data Analysis questions and GK section , computer based participants must be careful for this portion because questions from Data Analysis will carry some difficulty and it can consume some extra time. Apart from this GK section can also present some challenge for the participants.
All participants are suggested to manage their time because to attempt 200 question in 150 minutes is not easy task. Apart from this, do not take unnecessary risk because penalty marking can reduce changes of high score. As we know that computer based test has some positive and negative points but for the candidates those are well versed with technology can have some upper edge and other can face some problem. Now this is not a problem because AIMA conducts this exam in both format (Computer based and Paper based).
This year, around 14000 candidates attended paper based examination while around 5000 candidates can attend computer based exam on 10th September 2016. MAT is of 150 minutes duration test and consisted of 200 questions. These questions are asked from 05 sections (Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and Indian and Global Environment). 40 Question will be asked from each section and each question will carry 01 marks. There is also penalty marking of 0.25 per wrong response.
