New Courses offered at Sanskriti University

Sanskriti University believes in delivering value-based education which helps students become a better person and do something constructive for the society. Sanskriti University offers more than 50 programmes ranging from traditional courses like engineering, management, medical, education etc. to hotel management, fashion designing, agriculture etc.

Recognizing the demand for various unconventional courses and the need for formal training in diverse fields, Sanskriti University offers courses such as Bachelor of Optometry, Bachelor of Medical Lab Technology, Diploma in Animal Health & Welfare, B.Sc. (Forestry), Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Performing Arts etc. These courses are new and have a wide scope in the near future.

The details of such courses are as under:

  • Bachelor of Optometry (B.Opt.)

Bachelor of Optometry degree course includes the study of examination, diagnosis and treatment of eyes, specially related to visual, optical symptoms, refractive errors and their correction, using lenses and other optical aids. This course covers the study of vision screening (eye testing), diagnosis of visual problems and vision training, optometric counseling of patients with partial sight, colour blindness and hereditary vision defects, and designing and fitting of spectacles, contact lens and low vision aids. The duration is 3 years academic program plus 1 year of internship.

Common job profiles of students after completing the course include Optometry Technicians, Ophthalmic Assistants and Ophthalmic Nurses. Opportunities exist in areas related with optical shops, eye doctors, and Contact Lens companies, ophthalmic lens industry and hospital eye departments. One can start one’s own eye clinic, optical shop, lens manufacturing unit.

  • Bachelor in Medical Lab Technology (BMLT)

This programme aims to provide efficient and balanced training in laboratory medicine. Students receive a stimulating, challenging and supportive academic experience alongside a fulfilling and enjoyable social life. It helps diagnose, treat and prevent disease through clinical laboratory tests. It is complementary to medical science. It involves analysis of body matter such as fluid, tissue, and blood.

Given the focus on the healthcare and the demand for allied health care professionals, career opportunities for clinical lab professionals is expected to grow faster than the average of all other occupations. The students possessing BMLT degree can work as laboratory technologist at hospitals, pharmaceutical laboratories, public health laboratories, research and product development or as a supervisor in laboratory, as consultant to laboratory medicine industry, quality assurance companies, sales and marketing etc.

  • Diploma in Animal Health & Welfare (Diploma in AHW)

It is a one-year diploma course which prepares students for a satisfying career working with animals big and small. It deals in animal welfare and behaviour, zoo-keeping, canine behaviour and training or veterinary nursing etc. Now-a-days, there are lots of areas to specialize in when it comes to caring for animals.

Animal Health and Welfare relates to the study of animal health to improving and enhancing welfare. There is an increased global awareness of the link between animal and human health and this suggests that graduates with skills in this area are well placed for a range of career destinations within the animal sector.

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

BFA in Applied Arts or Painting is an undergraduate Fine Arts course. It is a 4-years course which deals with application of design and aesthetics to function and everyday use. An integrated course is offered in the first year and the remaining three years are allocated for specialization. It is a degree that trains a student in the fields of industrial design, graphic design, fashion design, advertising, decorative art, architecture, photography and all kinds of paintings and colours.

Fine Arts graduates can avail a career options in various fields such as art studios, advertising companies, publishing houses, product design, manufacturing department, magazines, television, graphic arts, teaching, files and theater productions and many more.

  • Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA)

The basic aim of these courses is to impart a full time professional training in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music and Instrumental Music, Drama and Theatre and all forms of Indian Classical and folk Dance. Such courses aim to provide a specialized training to the students in all important aspects with a special emphasis on developing his/her performing ability to the professional standard.

The scope of performing arts has widened, over the years. Sanskriti University has, therefore,  included these courses in the field of performing arts to its curriculum. Students can specialize in various performing arts and become singers, music composers, dancers, musicians - vocal or instrument or drama artists.
