Scheme and Syllabus for ARS/ NET (National Eligibility Test) Examination 2012

The Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will conduct ARS/ NET Examination on 20 January 2013. The main objective of the test is to determine eligibility for Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). The minimum qualification required for the same is a Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline with specialization from a recognized university.

The examination will consist of one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions (from the respective discipline opted by the candidate) to be solved in 2 hours duration. The candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 60% marks (General/ OBC) and 50% (SC/ ST/ PH) to qualify this paper. A total of 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer marked on Answer Sheet.

The number of attempts however remains 5 for all candidates (whether MSc/PhD) for appearing in the National Eligibility Test Examination including the in-service candidates of ICAR. The test will be conducted at 33 centres across the country in 55 disciplines mentioned below.
