Symbiosis National Aptitude Test or SNAP is the common, mandatory Test for candidates willing to join various MBA programs with constituent units of Symbiosis International University (SIU). The SIU has initiated Registration process for the SNAP 2014 exam. Interested candidates can register online through SNAP website / SIU website till 22 November 2013, after which the link will be disabled.
For admission to any program of Institutes of SIU (except Symbiosis Institutes of Management Studies, which has a separate policy #), a Reservation Policy as per the UGC Regulations/ Guidelines needs to be followed. As per the policy, from amongst the candidates admitted to any of the programs:
i.15% of the candidates (Within Sanctioned Intake) should belong to Scheduled Caste (SC) category, 7.5% to Scheduled Tribes (ST) category while 3% should be Differently-abled;
For candidates seeking reservation benefits under Differently-abled category, the disabilities covered are:
a. Vision Impairment
b. Hearing Impairment
c. Locomotors Disabilities
d. Mental Retardation
e. Multiple Disabilities
ii. 2 seats per program should be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants : and 15% for International Candidates. This reservation will be over & above the Intake;
All candidates claiming admission under DAC will be provisionally admitted under the said category. There admission will be confirmed only if they are able to obtain and produce an 'Authentication Certificate' from Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) within one month of commencement of the program.
Candidates applying from categories other than Open Category will have to submit valid supporting document (s) at the time of PI-WAT, if shortlisted.
As per the Reservation policy, 80% of seats within the intake will be reserved for dependents (Children / Ward) of Defence Category -- General (as per merit) and 10% will be reserved for dependents (Children / Ward) of Defence category- Special i.e. Defence personnel killed in action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), disabled in action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), with more than 50% disability, next of kin of service personnel who have died while in service, death being attributable to military service. (as per merit)
The remaining 10% seats will be in open category and will be offered to civilian candidates sponsored / recommended by the Industry (as per merit).
NOTE: Officers of Armed Forces on Study Leave as authorized by respective Services HQs are granted automatic admission -- under Reservation of Seats over and above intake -- subject to their meeting the eligibility criteria.
