India's nominee to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Dalveer Bhandari was re-elected to the International Court of Justice on 21 November 2017. Bhandari received 183-193 votes in the General Assembly and secured all the 15 votes in the Security Council after separate and simultaneous elections were held at the UN headquarters in New York.
RBI Governor Urjit Patel has been appointed to the Financial Stability Institute Advisory Board of the Bank of International Settlement (BIS), a global financial organisation owned by major central banks from across the world. The Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the BIS assists financial sector authorities worldwide in strengthening their financial systems.
Former French Culture Minister, Azoulay was elected as DG on 14 October 2017 through the voting of UNESCO’s Executive Board. However, her election awaited the confirmation of UNESCO's 195-member General Assembly. With this confirmation, Azoulay became the second French leader of the UNESCO after Rene Maheu, who was UNESCO's Director General from 1961-74.
M Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Hyderabad Police, has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana State. He succeeded DGP Anurag Sharma, who retired from the service on 11 November 2017.

UNESCO’s Executive Board voted 30 to 28 in favour of Azoulay against Qatar’s Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kawari. Her election will now be put forward for approval to UNESCO’s 195 members on 10 November 2017. The Banaras Hindu University has appointed Royana Singh as the first woman Chief Proctor of the institution. The appointment was approved by Vice Chancellor Girish Chandra Tripathi. Prior to this appointment, Royana served as an assistant professor at the Institute of Medical Science (Anatomy Department).

Mercedes Araoz, who was appointed as the new Prime Minister of Peru by President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, has earlier served the country as its economy minister between 2006 and 2011 under the administration of President Alan Garcia.
