Delhi Transport Corporation won the Lowest Accident Rate Award for 2012

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on 3 January 2013 was awarded with the Lowest Accident Rate Award for 2012. The awards were presented by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) and were received by Rajeev Verma, Chairperson cum Managing Director of DTC. The award includes a cash reward of 50000 rupees and a trophy.  

Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU)

Association of State Road Transport Undertakings was established on 13 August 1965 with a single aim of bringing together all the State Road Transport Undertakings under a common platform. The body was established with a plan of pooling their resources and understands their operations and deal with the problems that occurred for improvement in the standards of their performance. ASRTU comprises 62 members that include 7 associate members. ASRTU is headed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India as the ex-officio President.
