About CUSAT CAT 2017
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a government-owned autonomous science and technology university in Kochi (Cochin), Kerala, India. Founded in 1971, it has three campuses: two in Kochi and one in Kuttanad, Alappuzha, 66 km inland. The university awards degrees in engineering and science subjects at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.

Exam Pattern

1. Candidates would be asked a total of 250 questions in the exam.
2. The CUSAT CAT-2015 Exam will comprise of two papers as follows:
Paper 1: Mathematics with 125 questions
Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry with 125 questions in the ratio 3:2
3. Questions would be of as per the syllabus.
4. Distribution of questions – 125 questions from Mathematics, 75 from Physics and 50 from Chemistry.
5. According to CUSAT CAT-2015 exam pattern, type of questions asked in the exams will be of multiple choices only.
6. Candidates have to choose one correct option out of the given 4 options.
7. Duration of the exam is 3 hours.
7. For every right answer 3 marks will be awarded and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted. No marks will be awarded to an unmarked question.

Eligibility
Regular B. Tech/B.E:
Candidates must be Indian Citizens.
They must satisfy the domicile requirements of Kerala
They must have passed the 10+2 of the state of Kerala or any other equivalent examination from a recognized board.
They must have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
They must have secured a minimum of 50% in Mathematics
They must have secured an aggregate of 50% in the total marks of mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.
Note: SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission, if they have pass marks in qualifying examination except for Marine Engineering.

B. Tech (Instrumentation Technology)
In addition to the general criteria of eligibility, candidates must fulfill the below conditions to be eligible.
They must have secured a minimum of 55% in Mathematics
They must have secured an aggregate of 60% in the total marks of mathematics, physics and chemistry put together

B. Tech (Marine Engineering):
In addition to the general criteria of eligibility, candidates must fulfill the below conditions to be eligible.
They must have secured a minimum of 55% in Mathematics
They must have secured an aggregate of 60% in the total marks of mathematics, physics and chemistry put together
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% in English in Class X and XII (applicable to SC/ST)
Age Limit for eligible candidates will be 25 years as on September 1, 2014
Admissions will be based on directions from the DG Shipping (Govt. of India)
Vocational/Diploma holders are not eligible.
