The father figure of Lokmanya Tilak is revered and the ideals that he stood for have inspired the founders of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association. Enlightenment, Social Progress, Patriotism and Self-Esteem through education, the virtues that Tilak’s life taught us and his stress on education as a means to make us fit for service and sacrifice for our motherland became the goals for these founders. With the changing times and the needs of society the shift of emphasis on the type of education has taken place but the original goals have been the guiding lights. Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association’s Mulund College of Commerce, was founded in 1970 by such visionaries as the Late Shri Babasaheb Pethe, the Late Shri Baburao Paranjape and others. Today the college is one of the most sought after Commerce colleges in the University of Mumbai. The junior college was started in the year 1976. Mulund College of Commerce is renowned for its academic excellence, exemplary discipline and professional orientation.
