SEBA had earlier made changes in Social Science and Assamese papers following reports of question paper leak. As per report, question papers of both the subjects were leaked in Hojai and Baksa districts. The incident was noticed first when Social Science and Assamese papers were distributed to students instead of General Mathematics.
Last year, a total number of 3,81,585 students had appeared for the examination out of which 2,39,614 managed to pass the examination thus taking the pass percentage to 62.79 per cent. According to the last year’s statistics, the male students had managed to outshine their female counterparts with 64.11 per cent against 61.56 per cent. However, female candidates were more than the male applicants. (1,97,052: Female and 1,84,533: Male).
Assam HSLC Result 2017 Toppers: Parthapratim Bhuyan has topped the Assam HSLC Result 2017 with 589 marks, securing 98.17%. The list of toppers is given in the table below:

About Secondary Education Board of Assam:
The Assam Secondary Education Act, came into existence in the year 1962, although it was passed one year earlier. The main idea behind passing the act was to provide for the establishment of a Board of Secondary Education to regulate, supervise and develop Secondary Education in the State of Assam. Popularly known as SEBA, the Secondary Education Board of Assam is the primary custodian of high school level education in the state. SEBA looks after the development, promotion, monitoring and expansion of high school education in the state for students’ upto class 10. The Board also organizes the annual Assam High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Exam every year in the month of February – March.
