Joint India-Bangladesh Exercise Sampriti 2017 Concludes

Joint Indo-Bangladesh Training Exercise SAMPRITI 2017, concluded on 16th November 2017 at Counter Insurgency & Jungle Warfare School, Vairengte in Mizoram with a validation exercise. The exercise SAMPRITI 2017 was aimed to strengthen and widen the aspects of interoperability and cooperation between the Indian and Bangladesh Armies. It was the 7th such exercise in the SAMPRITI series.

Sagarmala project: Shipping Ministry offers grant to JNPT and Karwar port

The Ministry of Shipping sanctioned Rs 25 crore to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) for development of coastal berth and another Rs 50 crore to the Karwar port in Karnataka on 27 October 2017. The grant was offered under the Sagarmala project.

Sex with minor wife amounts to rape: SC

The Apex Court of Country Supreme Court struck down the provision of criminal law that legalized sex by a spouse with his minor wife between the age of 15 to 18 years in a child marriage case. The apex court said the exception in the rape law was contrary to the philosophy of other statutes and violates the bodily integrity of a girl child. The court also ruled that the exception given to this is violative of Article 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution.

Gauri Lankesh to receive Anna Politkovskaya Award posthumously

Delhi High-level Committee recommends proposal for monitoring buses, vans ferrying students
