Andhra Pradesh to be declared ODF by March 2018

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state will be declared ODF by March 2018. In Madhya Pradesh, over 2 Lakh toilet pits were dug on 17 September with the intention of turning them into at least one lakh toilets by 2 October.

India, Japan sign 15 agreements for enhancing bilateral cooperation

The agreements were signed during the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to India. Among various agreements, both the sides exchanged RoD (Record of Discussions) on civil aviation cooperation with respect to open sky. With this agreement, Indian and Japanese carriers can now undertake unlimited number of flights to the selected cities of each other's countries.

2 US scientists, Indian economist among 2017 Balzan Prize awardees
