In next six months’ time, 20 of the departments in Allahabad University would get semi-smart classrooms. Along with this there would be another 20 fully equipped smart-classrooms that would come up soon in the university.
In JK Institute the semi-smart classrooms have already become functional for subjects like, physics, chemistry, mathematics, biochemistry, ocean and atmospheric sciences, statistics and botany, Economics, Hindi, Geography, Psychology etc. In a few months’ time the Political science, ancient history and English departments would get state-of-the-art facility as well. The departments have already decided which classrooms are to be converted into semi-smart classrooms but are waiting the exams to get over. For the MONIRBA, Commerce faculty and Faculty of Law, semi-smart classrooms would also be provided.
According to Prof R K Singh, “These classrooms will be equipped with basic equipments needed for a smart classroom, including podium, multi-media LCD projector, screen and supporting audio system including ordinary and collar microphone, and a master CPU (Central Processing Unit) of the computer to control the entire system.”
These semi-smart classrooms would be used for conducting seminars, guest lectures and presenting power point presentations by visiting or resident academicians or scholars, organizing small in-house activities etc, apart from only teaching to students.
