In order to make sports more popular in the state run government schools of Delhi, the government has decided to provide sports training to students at various schools from the next month. The sports training will be provided in several games to the students according to their interest. The decision regarding the same was taken up in a meeting of the Delhi Cabinet headed by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
A list of 29 sports clubs and academies have been listed by the Delhi government, who will provide the sports facilities to the students in the government run schools in the state. From 4 July onwards, the sports training is scheduled to begin in the government schools of Delhi. This will enhance the interest of students towards sports and help them grow with their talent.
According to the official of the education department, “The sports training of students will begin in government schools from July4. Best trainers will be hired for the same so that students get encouraged towards the sports.” The students will be provided with the training of various games apart from Cricket and Football. According to the official the clubs will provide training in different sports such as table tennis, martial arts, boxing, cricket, chess, kho-kho etc.
Giving prominence to other smaller sports, these clubs will develop the interest among the students for the games and prepare the next breed of sportsmen who will represent the nation in future sporting events.
