The Meghalaya Health Department is going to fill 541 vacancies of Nurses in the State. Out of the total posts available, 261 vacancies are in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and 280 for Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery.
The Health department will fill the posts by conducting recruitment tests. The State government has ruled out direct appointment of bonded GNM candidates.
According to GNM candidates of the batch of 2010-2012, earlier direct recruitment was held against the vacant posts. And they demanded the State governments for the same. However the government conducted an enquiry to probe the matter.
The health department had even terminated the bonds signed by the GNM candidates.
