Maharashtra State Board of SSC and HSC Education, Pune is an autonomous education board recognised under the provisions of Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Boards Act in 1965. The Maharashtra Education Board conducts the HSC and SSC Examinations i.e. Class 12th and Class 10th board examinations in the state. Moreover, the board provides online preparation portal to students of Maharashtra state who will be appearing for entrance exams like Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET), Joint Entrance Exam (JEE for IIT admissions) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Features of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE):
- The MSBSHSE has 9 Divisional Boards under it that are located in Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik, Kolhapur, Amravati, Latur, Nagpur and Ratnagiri
- The Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board conduct Class 12th and Class 10th board examination in February -March every year
- More than 14 lakh students for Higher Secondary and around 17 lakh students appear for SSC level of examination
- Moreover, around six lakh students take supplementary examination for both HSC and SSC
- As many as 21000 schools for secondary and 7000 schools for Higher Sec. Schools / Junior colleges are affiliated to MSBSHSE

Maharashtra Board HSC syllabus –
The board has prescribed syllabus for higher secondary level education. The Maharashtra Board HSC syllabus is available for all streams and for each subject of Class 11th and Class 12th level. The syllabus of Maharashtra Board HSC mentions the topics to be studied by students in Class 11th and Class 12th.
- For designing the syllabus of Higher Secondary i.e. Class 11th and Class 12th, MSBSHSE has considered syllabuses of different states like Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal.
- Moreover, the syllabuses of NCERT, CBSE and ICSE were also studied and then the board decided and prescribed the HSC syllabus.

MSBSHSE Higher Secondary Education Passing Marks –
As per the passing criteria for Maharashtra board, students need to obtain at least 35 marks in each of the seven subjects for higher secondary level.
