All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University (NLU), Delhi for admissions to undergraduate law courses i.e. BA LLB. NLU Delhi is the only law university who conducts its own entrance exam for admission and, does not participate in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which is conducted for admission to UG law courses offered at 19 NLUs. Eligibility Criteria of AILET:

The candidates seeking admissions to UG law course at NLU Delhi need to fulfil the eligibility criteria for AILET including academic requirements, minimum qualifying marks besides obtaining merit rank in the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria of AILET is as under –

  • Candidates must have obtained minimum 45% marks in aggregate of all subject in Class 12th board examination.
  • Moreover, candidates need to be eligible as per the age criteria of AILET i.e. they should not be more than 20 years of age at the time of admissions.

How to Apply for AILET?:

Candidates can apply for AILET in first week of January in online mode only. The online application form of AILET requires candidates to fill their academic details, exam details besides personal details. Check here how to apply for AILET as mentioned below –

1. Register: candidates can provide details like name, e-mail id, phone number, date of birth, nationality, and create password. Once registered, candidates will receive a confirmation mail and also, registration id and password for AILET applicant account.

2. Fill the application form: In the application form, candidates need to fill educational qualification, exam appearing details like exam city, course applying for and reserved category details.

3. Upload documents: Candidates need to upload their recent coloured photograph and a scanned copy of their signature as per the specifications.

4. Payment of application form: the application fee for AILET can be paid in online mode only using Debit Card/Credit Card/NET Banking options. The application for AILET is Rs. 3050 for general category, OBC category and Kashmiri Migrants. The application fee for SC/ST/PH candidates is Rs. 1050 and, SC/ST category candidates below poverty line need not pay any application fee.  

5. Submitting the application form: Candidates need to submit the application form of AILET in online mode only, and also keep extra copies of the submitted application form after getting print out (required at the time of counselling procedure of AILET).
