Registering a new high in terms of marks in the cut off lists, the Ambedkar University cut off marks touched a whopping 100% for few subjects this year. Commerce stream students from Delhi need to have 100% cut off marks in their higher secondary education in order to study Sociology and History from the university. Even for students who took Arts and Science stream in their higher secondary classes, need to score cut off marks above 90% in the university for most subjects.
Being a state university, majority (85%) of the seats is reserved for students who are from Delhi. For Non-Delhi students, the cut off of 100% was set for BA Hons course in English, History, Psychology, Sociology and Humanities and Social Sciences. The marks needed to be scored by candidates who had taken up commerce in their higher secondary education.
The university releases separate cut off marks for both Delhi and Non-Delhi based students every year and also releases the different cut off marks for different streams trough their website. The admissions are taking place at the Kashmere Gate and Karmapura campus this year for the university. The university officials have informed that this year merit list for all the individual subjects have been made public for the students. The number of applicants have risen to almost threefold this year from that of the previous year for the undergraduate courses. The university has received 26777 applications for the 445 seats in both the campuses of the university. Last year the number of students applied for the seats was mere 9788.
