Ratan Tata is known for his business acumen and is highly regarded as one of the greatest business leaders of all times. He is also known for his fine business and investment policies. Meanwhile, he has done many investments as he knows the importance of small medium industries in India and promotion of startups. He made these investments in 9 different companies after retiring from Tata Group`s Chairman position.

Ratan Tata made an investment in Urban Ladder in November 2014. Urban Ladder is an online furniture seller in Bangalore, India founded in 2012. The company offers a range of products such as beds, sofas, wardrobes, and dining among other furniture categories. Urban Ladder is present in 12 cities across India.

Swasth India is a Mumbai-based healthcare service provider. They have created a health system providing one-stop access to high-quality healthcare services at half the market rates, making healthcare more affordable and hence more accessible to the common man.
6th Investment by Ratan Tata: PayTm
Ratan Tata acquired a stake in PayTm by investing an undisclosed amount in this mobile commerce startup, where Alibaba had recently invested close to $500 billion. Paytm started by offering mobile recharge and utility bill payments.

CarDekho is an automotive website, which was launched in 2008. It is owned by Girnar Software Pvt. Ltd, which has its headquarters in Jaipur, India.
9th Investment by Ratan Tata: Xiaomi
The latest investment was made in Xiaomi. Xiaomi Inc. is a privately owned Chinese electronics company headquartered in Beijing, China.
