Osmania University, Hyderabad invites application from eligible candidates for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP SET) 2012 for recruitment as Assistant Professors/ Lecturers in various Universities/ Degree Colleges/ Institutions of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh. The test will be conducted for 24 subjects approved by University Grants Commission falling under Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences at 12 Centres in the State.

Eligibility Criteria for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP SET) 2012

Educational Qualification
- Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH) (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognised are eligible for this Test
- Final year candidates can also apply
- The PhD degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (ie, from 55% to 50%) for appearing in APSET
- Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year
Selection procedure for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP SET) 2012: The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held in two separate sessions as under:

There will be no negative marking. Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result.
Note: The syllabus of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will be the same as UGC-CSIR and UGC-NET. The candidates will be allowed to carry a carbon printout of the OMR Response Sheets with them on conclusion of examinations.
How to Apply for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP SET) 2012: Candidates need to download Bank Challan Form in triplicate (Bank Copy, APSET Copy & Candidate's Copy)
Application Fee: The application fees to be paid by SC/ ST/ PH/ VH candidate is Rs 250, for OBC candidate is Rs 500 and for General candidate is Rs 700.
The Registration fee/late fee has to be paid through bank challan only, which is provided along with the online application form in the AP-SET website. Candidates are to be required to take the printout of the prescribed bank challan from the AP-SET website and then deposit the requisite test fee in any branch of State Bank of Hyderabad along with the bank charges (commission) of Rs 20. After the payment of fee it has to be enclosed with the printed filled in online application form.
- Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the following: (i) Scanned passport size photograph in JPEG format of less than 300 kb, (ii) Copy of Bank Challan (fee receipt).
- After successful submission, the candidate should take printout of online Application Form (two copies) on separate A-4 size papers and send it to Member Secretary, AP-SET office, II-floor, Block-II, PGRR Center for Distance Education, Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad-500007(AP).
- The envelope containing the Application Form should be super scribed as "AP State Eligibility Test-2012"
