In a new corrigendum dated 31 October 2012, Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) decided to conduct ARS Examination and NET Examination separately from the current session. While National Eligibility Test (NET) Examination will be conducted twice in a year; ARS (Agriculture Research Scientist) Examination will be held once in a year.

ASRB is expected to soon release its notification for ARS Examination separately. The syllabus, however, for both ARS and NET examinations will be same.

NET will be conducted in 55 disciplines at 33 centres across the country for which the number of attempts remains 5 for all candidates excluding SC/ ST candidates. The examination will be conducted in objective mode having one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). A total of 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

The Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) Examination for determining eligibility for Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). The test will be conducted in 55 disciplines on 24 February 2013 from 10 am to 12 noon at 33 centres across the country.
