Candidates qualifying in written test will be called for Interview. Interview entails Aptitude / Skill Test / Psychological test wherever necessary. Candidates selected for Interview will be intimated through postal mail / E-mail and through publication in BMRCL Website. Short listed candidates will be called for verification of the original documents.
Candidate selected for a category after written test and Interview, will be given the choice to opt for any one of the posts in the category, in the order of their merit.
The BMRCL, at its discretion may hold additional written test(s) and / or interview / skill test if considered necessary for all or for a limited number of candidates.
If two or more candidates obtain equal marks, then the elder candidate will be given preference in selection.
Selection by BMRCL does not confer upon candidates any right of appointment in BMRCL. Appointment is subject to candidates’ passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the BMRCL, final verification of education, age, caste certificates and verification of antecedent/character of the candidate. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness. It may be noted that candidates qualifying in examination(s) but failing in prescribed medical examination(s) will not in any case be considered for appointment.
Finally selected candidates will have to undergo training wherever required.
Candidates possessing qualification equivalent to the relevant Engineering Degree / Engineering Diploma will have to produce documentary proof obtained from Association of Indian Universities in respect of Engineering degree and from Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Karnataka in respect of Engineering Diploma certifying the said equivalence at the time of Interview, failing which, the candidate shall be disqualified
Written Exam: The 2 hour written examination will be in conformity with the educational standards and / or technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The question paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Roman Hindi and have 100 questions. The paper will also contain writing one paragraph in Kannada / English which is compulsory and this will be evaluated only in respect of candidates shortlisted for interview.
Question paper will be of objective type with multiple answers and include questions on General knowledge, General English, General Arithmetic, Analytical and Quantitative Skills and those subjects covered as part of minimum educational / technical qualifications for the post. There will be only one question paper for each Trade in the category.
The written test will be held on Sunday the 10 March 2013 at Madras Engineering Group & Centre, Bangalore. Hall ticket for written Examination would be available on the BMRCL website and can be downloaded from 20 February 2013 onwards.
At the time of written examination, candidates have to bring with them two copies of the Hall Ticket and Employment Identity Card issued by the Defence for verification of Identity. If a candidate fails to produce the two documents, when asked for, he/she will not be allowed to take the written test.
How to Apply: Eligible Ex-servicemen can apply only through BMRCL’s website. On successful submission of online application, the system will generate an “Application Number”. This “Application Number” should be retained for future reference.
Retiring military personnel may also apply provided they have retired and have become ex-military personnel not later than one month from the date of Interview. However, Ex-servicemen discharged on medical grounds are not eligible to apply.
Female candidates are also eligible. However, some categories involve duties which are arduous in nature and call for working in shifts at odd hours and also away from headquarters.
