The Class X Bihar Board exams had started off with English paper on March 6, followed by Social Science, Maths and Science on May 7, May 8 and May 10 respectively. For the second language subject, the students appeared on March 12 and then  on March 13 for any optional course. While the teachers and students termed the papers averagely difficult, they were disappointed to know that no breaks were given during the examination except March 9 which was a Sunday.

Several government and private schools across the state are affiliated with the Bihar School Examination Board. It has been conducting Secondary School Examination twice in a year; once the annual exams in March and then in August/September for those students who fail in all subjects and others who have to appear for compartmental paper.
