Bihar STET 2019 Exam Postponed: Check here revised dates; Upper Age Limit to be increased

Bihar STET 2019: Exam postponed by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) to implement the directions given by the Patna High Court by revising the eligibility criteria for the aspirants. Earlier on 15th October 2019, the High Court had directed the Bihar Board to enhance the upper age limit as the Bihar State Teacher Eligibility Exam (BSTET) is being conducted this year after a gap of 9 years. Bihar STET Exam was scheduled to be held on 7th November 2019. Bihar STET 2019 Recruitment aims to fill in 37,335 vacancies in government schools for secondary and higher secondary class teachers. 

The Bihar Board generally conducts the Bihar STET and Physical Education and Health Instructor Examination 2019 (PEHIE) on the same day. However, now the exam has been postponed until further notice of the Bihar Board.  The Bihar STET revised exam date and schedule has not been announced yet. The revised dates will be updated here once revealed by the BSEB on its official website bsebstet2019.in. Bihar STET Exam Pattern: Candidates need to appear for the Bihar STET examination and qualify it to get recruitment in Bihar government schools. Bihar STET 2019 written exam for Paper-I and Paper-II is of 150 marks each. Of these 150 marks, 100 marks will be for the selected subject and 50 marks will be teaching art and other skills. The total duration of the examination will be 2.5 hours.  Candidates who intend to teach Classes 9^th & 10^th in Bihar schools will appear for the STET Paper-I and candidates who intend to teach Classes 11^th & 12^th will appear for STET Paper-II against 25,270 and 12,065 vacancies, respectively.

BSEB to announce revised Upper Age Limit

Patna High Court recently in its order dated 15th October 2019, directed the Bihar Board to increase the upper age limit for the Bihar STET Exam. Considering that the Bihar STET Exam is being conducted this year after a long gap of 8 years, the Court felt that there might be many candidates who could not apply for the Bihar STET due to the age limit. Hence, to help such candidates, the Patna High Court ordered relaxation in the upper age limit. Accordingly, the Bihar Board will soon announce the revised age limit for the candidates.
