BSF to hold All India Examination to fill 16 Assistant Commandant vacancies

    Border Security Forces, New Delhi, (Pers DTE – Recruitment Section) issued notification announcing holding of an All India Examination for recruitment to 16 posts of Assistant Commandant with Works Department and Electrical Department (Group ‘A’ combatised) for the Engineering Set up in BSF. Interested candidates should send their applications within 30 days of publication of this notification in Employment News i.e. till __ / ___/ 2013.

    The vacancies are temporary but likely to be permanent.

    Eligibility:

     Age Limit: below 35 years
    (Upper age limit is relax-able for SC / ST candidates by 5 years and for OBC candidates by 3 years)

    Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent, possession of NCC B or C certificate, or outstanding achievements in sports or athletics will be an added qualification.

    Selection Procedure: Selection will be done through a three-phased, multi-staged process as mentioned below:

    Phase I: Written Examination:  There will be 2 composite papers:

    Paper I  (Common for both the posts): Candidates will be required to answer 100 OMR based Objective type multiple choice questions of one mark each.  The duration of paper will be 2 hours and it will be divided into 4 sections having 25 questions each – General English, General Awareness, Reasoning and Numerical Aptitude.

    Paper II (different for both the posts): Candidates will be required to answer 10 subjective, conventional type questions of 10 marks each in the duration of 2 hours. The paper for AC (Works) will have 10 questions from Civil Engineering while the paper for AC (Electricals) will have 10 questions from Electrical Enginee ring.

    Phase II: Candidates qualifying in Phase I will be allowed to appear for the Phase II that will have three stages.

    Stage I: Documentation: will be done at the center on a pre-decided date.

    Stage II: Physical Standard Test (PST): will be done to assess candidates’ height, weight & chest.

    Stage III: Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates clearing the PST will have to appear for the PET

    Phase III: Candidates qualifying the Phase II will be allowed to participate in two-staged Phase III to be held in Delhi.

    Stage I: Interview: will carry 50 marks.

    Stage II: Medical Examination: Only those candidates who clear the Interview will be medically examined, as per the BSF’s standards.

    Candidates declared Unfit in the Medical Examination can appeal for review Medical examination against error of judgment within 15 days time.

    Final scrutiny of eligibility criterion will be done at the time of final selection / medical examination. Recruitment will be done on All India basis and selected candidates will be liable to be posted anywhere in the country. The selected candidates will have to undergo basic training at any of the training institutions of BSF.

    Candidates found eligible initially, for the post applied, will be assigned Roll Number / Registration Number. They will be called to participate in the selection process. The exact date and venue for the first phase of the recruitment process (written test) will be intimated to the eligible candidates through Admit Card / Call letters.

    Examination Fees: Non-refundable examination fees of Rs. 100 have to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft / IPO drawn in the name of the addressee to whom the application form is being submitted, payable at respective SBI / post office at the location or nearby station.

    Female, SC / ST , BSF and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

    How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates should send their applications in the prescribed format along with attested copies of the required certificates / documents to one of the below mentioned address / authority so as to reach the concerned authority within 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in Employment News i.e. till --____2013.

    On the envelope containing the applications, candidates should super -scribe “Application for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Works / Electrical) in BSF Engg Set Up - 2013”.
