Many girls sat for the CAT 2014 exam with a dream of getting top percentile scores and seats in IIMs. A girl candidate has scored 100 percentile in CAT 2014 exam. This is the first time during past many years that so many candidates have scored 100 percentile in the CT Exam. Dr Rohit Kapoor, Convener CAT 2014 said “There are 16 hundred percentilers that includes a girl candidate. We need women leaders. IIMs have in recent years been trying to make their campuses more inclusive”.

CAT 2014 has given twice the number of 100 percentilers in comparison to CAT 2013 exam in which 8 candidates scored 100 percentile. There were a number of changes introduced in CAT 2014 exam; these changes have given a fruitful result it seems. Aspirants have given a better performance. Not only the number of questions was increased but also the time available to solve per question was reduced from 2.32 minutes to 1.7 minutes.  Candidates were allowed to move freely between one section to the other section and according to the candidates who took CAT Exam 2014; they forgot to notice the timer ticking while remaining involved in one section.

Girl who scored 100 percentile and thus topped the CAT 2014 Exam along with 15 others is Neha Manglik from Delhi and is a chemical engineering student of BITS Pilani. This is the first time that a girl has scored 100 percentile in CAT Exam since it was converted into an online format in the year 2009.
