CBSE Class 10 Maths Marking Scheme 2020

CBSE Class 10 Maths examination will have two versions; Standard and Basic. Standard Mathematics is the same as existing level of exam while basic will be the easier version. CBSE has released the separate sample papers and marking schemes for both versions of Class 10 Maths.

Format and marking scheme for both Class 10 Standard and Basic Maths papers are as follows:

  • CBSE Class 10 Maths Sample Paper 2020 is of total 80 marks.
  • The question paper consists of 40 questions divided into 4 sections A, B, C, and D.
  • Section A comprises of 20 questions of 1 mark each.
  • Section B comprises of 6 questions of 2 marks each.
  • Section C comprises of 8 questions of 3 marks each.
  • Section D comprises of 6 questions of 4 marks each.

CBSE class 10 Science sample paper for board exam reveals the changed pattern with increased number of overall questions. Question paper is of total 80 marks and rest 20 marks are kept for practical examination. Marking scheme followed in paper is as follows:

  • Question paper consists of a total of 30 questions divided into three sections – A, B and C.
  • All questions in Section A are one-mark questions comprising MCQ, VSA type and assertion-reason type questions. They are to be answered in one word or in one sentence.
  • All questions in Section B are three-mark, short-answer type questions. These are to be answered in about 50 - 60 words each.
  • All questions in Section C are five-mark, long-answer type questions. These are to be answered in about 80 – 90 words each.

CBSE marking scheme can be referred to know how to write explanation for long answers type questions. Marking scheme suggests framing answers in pointers with writing the detail against each point according to the weightage of the question.

Format and marking scheme for Class 10 Social Science paper are as follows

  • The question paper has 35 questions in all.
  • Questions from serial number 1 to 20 are objective type questions. Each question carries one mark.
  • Questions from serial number 21 to 28 are3 marks questions. Answer of these questions should not exceed 80 words each.
  • Questions from serial number 29 to 34 are 5 marks questions. Answer of these questions should not exceed 120 words each.
  • Question number 35 is a map question of 6 marks with two parts – 35 a. from History (2 marks) and 35b. from Geography (4 marks).

From current academic session, English communicative was abandoned. So, in board exam 2020, CBSE will organise examination for class 10 English Language and Literature subject only.  CBSE has released sample paper for English subject, the format and marking scheme for which are explained below:

There are three sections in Class 10 English Language and Literature paper. Marks distribution across three sections is as follows:

CBSE Class 10 Hindi Marking Scheme 2020

CBSE Class 10 Hindi syllabus is divided into two courses; Hindi A and Hindi B. Format and marking scheme for both courses are mentioned below:

CBSE Class 10 Hindi A sample paper consists of total 13 questions divided into four sections. First section has questions based on unseen passage and carries 10 marks. Second section consists of 4 questions bases on behavioural grammar. It carries total 16 questions. Third section with 34 marks has questions from contents and chapter of textbook. Fourth section has questions to test writing skills and carries 20 marks in all.

CBSE Class 10 Hindi B sample paper has total 16 questions arranged in four sections with first and second sections of 15 marks each and remaining two sections carrying 25 marks each.
