CBSE class 10 results 2017 declared: Pass percentage dips by 5%

CBSE has declared the Class 10 Result 2017 for all regions on its official website. This year the CBSE Class 10 result has dipped by about 5% since the previous year. Result had been delayed due to the much controversial matter of Marks Moderation policy which CBSE wanted to dunp this year.

For about 8.8 lakh students, who had appeared in CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2017, finally the wait for CBSE class 10 result is over as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 10 result 2017 today, i.e., on June 3. Pass percentage dips by about 5%

The Overall pass percentage in CBSE Board Class 10th exam in 2017 is 90.96% ;overall pass percentage in 2016 was 96.21%, reported ANI. Overall pass percentage dips by 5.26. Pass percentage for Delhi has dipped by 13% since last year.

Delay in Class 10 Result

Last year, the Board had released the Class 10th results on May 28. This year, the results are delayed due to marks moderation policy which CBSE wanted to scrap however, due to High Court order, the board will have to continue with marks moderation.

How to calculate CBSE 10th CGPA/percentage

To calculate the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), firs of all find the sum of the grade points for all five main subjects and then divide it by 5. The end result would be your CGPA.

Now, to calculate the overall percentage, take the CGPA and multiply it by 9.5. 

Post result counselling for CBSE students and their parents
Just like the pre-exam counselling, CBSE has started the post-results counselling to help the distressed students. The counselling has begun from May 28 and will continue till June 11. The helpline can be accessed from 8 am to 10 pm on all days.
