In this article, we bring the examination pattern for CBSE Class 9 Mathematics exam. From previous session, CBSE had terminated the semester system in class 9. Under the current assessemnt scheme, students’ performance is assessed by conducting an annual exam only that is conducted for the complete syllabus of class 9.

CBSE Class 9 Mathematics Syllabus 2018-2019

Therefore, all the CBSE students of class 9 who will be taking their annual exam 2019, must have an idea of the exam pattern so that they may prepare accordingly and write a perfect exam to score optimum marks.

Here, we are providing the latest examination pattern for CBSE Class 9 Mathematics, to give a preview of the exam structure that students will see in the CBSE class 9 annual exam 2019.

CBSE Class 9 Mathematics Examination Pattern is as follows:

This year CBSE class 9 Mathematics question paper will be conducted for 80 marks covering 100% syllabus. The remaining 20 marks are alloted to internal assessment (IA) which will be added while calculating the overall grade.

Internal Assessment will comprise of:

  • Average of the marks scored in three periodic tests
  • 5 marks for notebook submission
  • 5 marks for subject enrichment activities

While preparing for the Mathematics exam, students should know the worth of each unit.

CBSE Class 9 Mathematics Question Paper format is given below:

  • The Maths question paper will comprise of a total of 30 questions divided into four sections, viz., A, B, C and D.
  • Section A will contain 6 questions of 1 mark each.
  • Section B will contain 6 questions of 2 marks each.
  • Section C will contain 10 questions of 3 marks each.
  • Section D will contain 8 questions of 4 marks each.
