CBSE has no plan to advance the Class 12 & Class 10 board exams to February from March, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
"As of now, no such proposal has been moved by the CBSE," Minister of State for HRD Upendra Kushwaha said in a written reply to whether the board has proposed to prepone the annual examinations.
The response by the minister comes amid concerns raised by various CBSE schools following reports of the CBSE's plan to study the idea of advancement of board exams by over a month.
After complaints by students of evaluation faults in their class 12 exam papers, the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) had last month set up two committees to study loopholes in the evaluation process.
This year CBSE has faced a lot of criticism over its moderation policy and re-evaluation process.
Recently, CBSE was pulled up by HC for not notifying that re-evaluation was permissible in all subjects of 12th. The matter has now been fixed for further hearing on 29 August 2017.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court on 6th June 2017 directed CBSE to re-evaluate Class 12th answer sheet of all the students who approach it. The court said its order should be made applicable to all students and not just those who had approached the Delhi High Court.
