CBSE is in the quest for alternatives to the homework given to the students. If you feel that the homework given to you is monotonous or makes you tired, you can share alternatives with CBSE.
Bearing in mind that there are many schools where homework is considered as an onerous activity by teachers and a tedious and time taking activity by both parents and students, the board has started hunting for options to homework. CBSE has asked for feedback from schools and parents about alternatives to homework for classes VI to VIII.
The board looks forward to expand its approach into various issues pertaining to homework. For this, they have planned a survey for school principals, students , teachers as well as parents, which is to be filled by 15th September. On the basis of the responses, CBSE will plan appropriate policies that can be recommended to the schools for allocating significant, methodical and research based homework at the upper primary level.
In the survey provided by CBSE, a person has to give his details & then give answers to various questions. A total of 10 questions, including suggestions were asked. The questions were based on the length of homework, practice, main purpose, length of the homework in a subject & whether they believe that the purpose of homework is practice, extension or preparation. A column was provided where people can post their suggestions, observations and comments. CBSE also appealed schools to upload some sample activities which they aspire to share with other schools.
