The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with an on-line facility named 'Saransh' for the schools affiliated to it. Following are some of the services that would be provided by 'Saransh':
(i) It would bring all the necessary matter related to the Problem Solving Assessment (PSA) for classes IX and XI. It also shows a complete comprehensive picture of Class X since 2007 and of Class XII since 2009 to the latest academic session.
(ii) using it, the schools will be able to look at their performance in scholastic and co-scholastic areas at an aggregate level, and at the level of each student in the school. All the performance metrics are presented through numbers as well as charts for easy understanding.
(iii) Saransh helps the schools to compare their performance with other schools under various categories i.e., All India, Regional, State and within their school category.
The CBSE is planning to extend the same to the parents so that they can also keep a check on their wards performance over the years bringing school teachers and parents closer so as to monitor the progress of the student.
Smt. Smriti Irani, the Union Human Resource Development Minister, gave this whole information in the form of a written reply to the Lok Sabha question.
