Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to declare the result of CBSE conducted Class 12th (XII) Final Exam Result 2012 by 28 May 2012. CBSE conducted class 12 exam throughout the month of March and April 2012. The class XII exam ended on 13 April 2012. Around 769929 students appeared in CBSE class 12 exams from all over India in 2012. In the northeast region 820 schools are affiliated to CBSE and there are about 282 CBSE learning centres in the region. 43000 candidates appeared for the Class XII exams from the north-east region.
Currently the final scrutiny is being done. It was declared by the board that if a student in any case, gets a compartment in any subject, he/she can clear the subject by July 2012 when another examination would be held.
CBSE adopted comprehensive and continuous evaluation (CCE) system to monitor the overall performance of the candidates.
Functioning of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) functions under the overall supervision of the Controlling Authority which is vested with the Secretary Education, Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The Board has various statutory committees which are advisory in nature. The recommendations of all the committees are placed for approval before the Governing Body of the Board. The Governing Body of the Board is constituted as per its rules and regulations.
Board’s Structure
Chairman is the Chief Executive of the Board assisted by five Heads of Departments namely the Secretary, the Director (Academic), the Controller of Examinations, HOD (Edusat, R & D and vocational Education) and the HOD (Spl. Exams., Projects & Training). The Secretary (Education), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is the Controlling Authority of the Board and appoints the Chairman and Heads of Departments.
• The Secretary CBSE is the Chief Administrative Officer responsible for the matters relating to Administration, Audit and Accounts, Public Relations, Legal and grant of Affiliation to schools.
• The Director (Academics) is the head of the Academic Unit. The major functions of the unit is to develop the curriculum for all the subjects in academic and vocational streams at the secondary and senior secondary levels, to organize teacher training workshops, to develop support material for the guidance of the teachers and students, to publish text books for secondary and senior secondary classes and monitoring the academic projects.
• The Controller of Examinations is responsible for all matters related to examinations and administration of examinations, the major areas being pre and post examination work, coordination with regional offices for conducting annual secondary and senior school certificate examinations and All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination.
• The HOD (Edusat, Research and Development and vocational Education) is responsible for all matters concerning Distance Education through Education Satellite launched by ISRO and designing of curriculum for vocational subjects. The HOD is responsible for all matters concerning the All India Engineering Entrance Exams, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test etc.

Objectives of Central Board of Secondary Education are as follows:
• To prescribe conditions of examinations and conduct public examination at the end of Class X and XII. To grant qualifying certificates to successful candidates of the affiliated schools.
• To fulfill the educational requirements of those students whose parents were employed in transferable jobs.
• To prescribe and update the course of instructions of examinations
• To affiliate institutions for the purpose of examination and raise the academic standards of the country
