Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India issued notification inviting applications for filling up 8 vacancies at various caders with Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET).

CIFNET is the only National Institute of its kind in south east Asia that provides organized training for creation of trained technical manpower like Skipper, Fishing Second Hand, Master Fishermen, Engineer, Engine Driver, etc. to man sophisticated deep sea fishing vessels venturing into exploitation of the vast and rich living resources of the Exclusive Economic Zone and also shore technicians to run the associated shore installations. Interested candidates should send their applications within 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the employment news i.e. till 2 February 2014, as the notification was published in Employment News dated 4 January 2014 – 10 January 2014.

Pay Scale: Pay Band 1 of Rs. 5200 – 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.

Age Limit: not more than 27 years (as on the closing date for receipt of application).

Qualifications: NCVT or ITI or ITC trade certificate in Turner with one year relevant work experience

Posting: Initially at Chennai, transferable anywhere in India.

2. Name of the Post: Fitter

Total Vacancies: 1 post
Type of recruitment: Direct Recruitment

Category: Group ‘C’, Non-gazetted, Non-ministerial

Pay Scale: Pay Band 1 of Rs. 5200 – 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.

Age Limit: not more than 27 years (as on the closing date for receipt of application).

Qualifications: NCVT or ITI or ITC trade certificate in Marine Fitter or Diesel Mechanic or Fitter trade with one year relevant work experience

3. Name of the Post: Junior Deckhand

Qualifications: Matriculation with 18 months Mate Fishing Vessel course and one year fishing experience OR 24 months Vessel Navigation course

Qualifications: Matriculation with experience in net-making and net maintenance.

Posting: Initially at Kochi, Kerala, transferable anywhere in India.

Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates will be done on Direct Recruitment basis.
