Change in the UPSC ‘Main’ Plan of Examination 2013

The plan of main examination for the Civil Services Examination has now been modified. The UPSC released the corrigendum, subsequent notification of Civil Services Notification 2013 saying so. For more information, read ahead.

The plan of main examination for the Civil Services Examination has now been modified. The UPSC released the corrigendum, subsequent notification of Civil Services Notification 2013 saying so.

The changes in the mains include, English comprehension and English précis from Paper 1 have now been removed.

The Paper 1 of Essay has been regulated down from three hundred marks to a two hundred and fifty marks.

There will now be two qualifying papers each of three hundred marks, compulsory for all the candidates, which are as follows:

a) One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution.

b) English

4. The bar on Literature as an option in the main examination has now been removed.
