    Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination has announced on its website that the Tamil Nadu SSLC Result 2014 will be declared Today i.e. 23 May 2014 at 10 AM.

    Students who appeared for the Tamil Nadu State Board SSLC Exams 2014 should now keep their fingers crossed and pray for their results to meet their expectation.

    After declaration, the Tamil Nadu SSLC Result 2014 can be accessed on the official website of the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination.

    The Tamil Nadu State Board SSLC Exams 2014 were conducted by the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education from 26 March to 09 April 2014 for Class 10 students. According available data, 10, 38,876 regular and about 74,647 private candidates appeared in the TN Class 10 (SSLC) examinations 2014 that were held at 3,179 centers across the state.

    In 2013, around 10, 51,062 students appeared in the TN SSLC examinations and 89% of them were passed the exam.

    Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education works under the purview of the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The board is responsible to determine the progress of students studying in schools/institutions affiliated to it by conducting two board examinations in a year- one examination at the end of class 10 and the other at the end of class 12.  The scores from the class 12 board examinations are used by universities to determine eligibility and as a cut-off for admissions into their programmes.

    Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education was constituted by the Tamil Nadu government in the year 2002 by uniting together the existing two separate boards -- Board of Secondary Education and Board of Higher Secondary Examinations.
