The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination has announced the Tamil Nadu 10th Result 2014 (SSLC) on 23 May 2014 at 10 AM. Students who appeared for the Tamil Nadu State Board SSLC Exams conducted this year for Class 10 should now hold the breath and check out their results.

The Tamil Nadu SSLC Class 10 exams 2014 were held by the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education from 26 March to 09 April 2014 at as many as 3,179 centers across the state. In the exam, 10, 38,876 regular and around 74,647 private candidates appeared, as revealed in the available data.
Last year, the TN SSLC examinations were conducted for 10, 51,062 TN SSLC examinations students and 89% of them were passed exam.
With headquarter in Chennai, the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education works under the purview of the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE). The board is responsible to determine the progress of students studying in schools/institutions affiliated to it by conducting two board examinations in a year- one examination at the end of class 10 and the other at the end of class 12. The scores from the class 12 board examinations are used by universities to determine eligibility and as a cut-off for admissions into their programmes.
Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education was constituted by the Tamil Nadu government in the year 2002 by uniting together the existing two separate boards -- Board of Secondary Education and Board of Higher Secondary Examinations.
