The level of WBJEE test is far easier than Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). To secure good rank students will have to concentrate on all subjects equally as the competition is getting tougher day by day. In WBJEE test, questions are being asked from the all three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) which students study in Class 11 and 12. Chemistry is the easiest one among three but students have to remember more theory as compared to other two subjects. Students can broadly divide the Chemistry subject into three parts i.e., Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. 30% of the total questions asked in WBJEE test are from Physical Chemistry, 25% are from Inorganic Chemistry and rest 45% are from Organic Chemistry. Students who love to do calculation should go for Physical Chemistry first where they can do numerical problems, thereafter they can go for the remaining two parts. But students, who are not good in calculation, should go for Inorganic and Organic Chemistry.

To score good marks in Chemistry subject, students can follow the tips given below:
For Physical Chemistry:
1. Students should focus on numerical questions more than the theory part.
2. They should write all important formulae at one place which they can refer before the examination without wasting their precious time in searching in books.
3. Some of the most important chapters are:
- Some Basic Concept of Chemistry
- States of Matter
- Structure of Atom
- Chemical Bonding
- Thermodynamics
- Equilibrium
- Solid State
- Solutions
- Electrochemistry
- Chemical Kinetics
- Surface Chemistry
For Inorganic Chemistry:
1. Students should try to understand whatever they are reading instead of rote learning.
2. Should must familiar with the Periodic table along with the periodicity in properties.
3. Some of the important chapters are:
- Classification of Element and Periodicity
- Co-ordination Compound
For Organic Chemistry:
1. Students should focus on name reactions along with the required conditions.
2. They should try to understand the mechanism of the reaction instead of learning the reactions.
3. Some of the important chapters are:
- Hydrocarbons
- Organic Compounds Containing Halogen
- Alcohol, Phenol & Ether
- Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acid
- Polymers
- Biolmolecules
