Committee Formed by HRD Ministry to Review AICTE Regulations

    To analyze and review the quality of education in the country, the Union Human Resource and Development (UHRD) Ministry has set up a committee of four members to look after the current AICTE regulations.

    The committee will monitor growing lot of the technical and engineering colleges day by day. The committee includes members as M K Kaw, former secretary to MHRD as the chairman and A K Agarwal, vice- chancellor, Gujarat Technological University, U B Desai, director, IIT-Hyderabad and Ashok Jhunjhunwala, professor, IIT-Madras.

    With the help of the committee the standards of technical education will be evaluated. The performance of the students and faculty members will also be measured. The committee will look into the matters like appropriate accreditation problems in many regional centres of AICTE. The committee is likely to submit a report by April 2015 on the recommendations made on AICTE regulations.
