There is a state of confusion that has engulfed the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (SET) . The examination, which is scheduled for August and November 2012 suffered a setback when it wasn’t held in the month of August 2012.

The examination is conducted  by the University of Pune in Maharashtra and Goa. Almost Forty thousand candidates register for the examination each year. Maharashtra stated that the test would be conducted in an objective manner.

The UGC sets up a committee to conduct a review of the past examinations and the routine work at the SET department during the renewal of approval.

The committee submits a review report to UGC after which the new letter of approval is granted to the UoP to conduct the exam.

Also, mean while the candidates taking the SET exams are perturbed because of the chaotic situation, whether the board will re conduct the August examination, or will they proceed with the November test remains a mystery so far.
