In colleges like Kirori Mal and Kamala Nehru there are seats open for BCom (programme) as well. In few of the colleges mentioned earlier there are subjects like economics, English, Mathematics, Political Science and history that are available for grabbing. These colleges have still openings for interested students who have not been able to get through to the esteemed colleges because of the higher cut off marks earlier by the university. The cut off marks were set so high that the university has to still take out cut off lists to incorporate students in various courses and fill up the vacant seats in some of the colleges.

Majority of the colleges under the university would hold the orientation programme in the very first day of the academic session which is scheduled to be on 20 July. But quite a few colleges have already conducted the programme on Saturday and Sunday and would commence the classes from the very first day of the session.
