Department of Biotechnology Notified Recruitment to the Post of Director 2013

    Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal, is an autonomous organization funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. It is registered as a society under the Manipur State Societies Registration Act and aims to develop and utilize the rich bio-resources of the north-eastern region of the country through the application of modern tools of biology and biotechnology.

    IBSD invites applications from / nominations of eligible persons for the post of Director. Interested candidates should send their applications within 45 days from the date of publication of advertisement i.e. till __ July 2013

    Vacancy Details

    Name of the Post: Director

    No of Posts: 1 post

    Pay Scale: Pay Band – IV of Rs 37400-67000 + Grade Pay Rs. 10000 + admissible allowances.

    Eligibility Criterion

    Maximum age limit: below 50 years.

    (Maximum age limit is relax-able up to five years for Government servants and SC/ST candidates)

    Educational Qualification

    Essential:

    (a) A Master’s degree in Modern Biology / Life Sciences

    (b) Ph. D. Degree or equivalent degree in the relevant subject

    (c) High academic credentials in the area of modern biology / life sciences as evidenced through proven ability to carry out independent research and provide leadership for research in emerging areas of bio-resources

    Desirable:

    (a) Familiarity and ability to interact with National and International Institutes / Organizations involved in promotion of bio-resource research

    (b) Understanding of ecological parameters, biodiversity conservation and utilization.

    Experience

    (a) Minimum 15 years of experience in responsible positions of work in R&D / Planning / Industrial / Academic Institutions / Science & Technology organizations.

    Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview.

    Travel Allowance: Outstation candidates called for Interview will be paid to-and-fro air-fare / rail-fare by the shortest route as per rules on production of proof of journey.
