Dr. Babasahab Ambedkar Research & Training, Pune invited application for M.Phil/Ph.D Programme for Scheduled Caste candidates belonging to Maharashtra who wish to pursue regular and full time M. Phil and Ph.D degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology. The candidates eligible for the post can apply through prescribed format before 31 August 2013. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research & Training Institute (BARTI), Pune is an autonomous organization under the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Govt. of Maharashtra. This institute was established in the year 1978 under the name “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samata Vichar Peeth” and subsequently became autonomous under its present name in the year 2008.

Objective of Dr. Babasahab Ambedkar Research & Training, Pune
The fellowship has been initiated for SC candidates to provide them opportunity to undertake advanced studies and research. The objective of this award is to provide fellowships in the form of financial assistance to the students belonging to SC category to pursue higher studies leading to M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees (full-time) in Humanities and Social Sciences, and Sciences, Engineering & Technology, in Indian Universities / Institutions / Colleges approved under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act and in Non-Universities / Institutions.
The SC candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra, who have passed the Post-Graduation exam in the concerned discipline and who desire to pursue full-time research without JRF of UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET or RGNF or any other fellowship.
Selection will be made on the basis of merit of the candidates and the selection criteria will be decided by Dr. Babasahab Ambedkar Research & Training, Pune. The candidate however needs to get himself/herself registered for M Phil/ PhD at the first available prospect. However the candidate should not delay it beyond a period of two years from the receipt of award letter as it is not extendable. The actual payment of fellowship will be made with effect from the date of approval of fellowship or date of joining whichever is later.
