The ongoing Delhi University admission process has witnessed a steady pattern in the subject preferences. A trend has been observed in the subject choices made by the students. Maximum numbers of applications were received for English and Political Sciences in Arts stream; Physics and Chemistry in Science stream.
Though offbeat courses have crept in the curriculum, still the craze for traditional courses has not reduced. This is the reason why for all the traditional core courses high cutoffs are set initially. This year too the cutoff is likely to be within 90%-97% for all the above mentioned highly sought after courses.
While majority of the seats are in BA Vocational and Regular courses (11075), a total of 6859 seats are available for UG courses of Commerce. BCom Honors has a total of 6032 seats. 7089 seats are available in Bachelor of Science programs.
53 constituent colleges offer BA (Regular/ Vocational) course and 42 colleges offer Bachelor of Commerce course.
Students, who are skeptical about the present year cutoff, need to get a brief knowledge about the cutoffs for various departments previous year. Last year, for BSc Physics the lowest cutoff was 89.5% at Kalindi, Economics admission closed down at 91%. BCom Honours admission closed at 88%.
