DU Admissions 2021 Updates: The University of Delhi has commenced the DU Admissions 2021 from 2nd August 2021 for the UG level courses. As of 19th August, 335547 candidates have already applied for the preferred UG level courses and colleges through online mode at the DU Admission Portal. Aspirants will be allowed to register for the under-graduate merit-based courses until 31st August 2021.      

Once the DU registration process is over, the DU's first cut-off for admission will be released soon afterward. The DU cutoff 2021 is expected to be released on 1st October 2021. The DU admission process will commence from 4th October onwards. The DU Admission updates will be published on this page regularly,  once the 1st cut-off is released by the university.

The DU Cut-off for the year 2021 will include the college courses and the percentage required for the aspirant to seek admission in that particular course of choice. Each college will release the cut-off percentage which an aspirant should clear in order to be eligible to apply for DU admission. 

The University of Delhi releases the Consolidated 1st cut-off online at the official website of  DU and each individual college also releases the DU 1st cut-off and successive cut-offs separately on their official website. Delhi University offers several courses to the aspirants. The top 10 courses that generally receive maximum applications for admission every year are as under:

DU Cut-off Updates - Previous Year Analysis

Take a look at the updates of DU Admission after the release of DU cut-off in 2019. 

Through the 1st cut-off, 40 percent of seats i.e. around 23,000 seats have already been grabbed out of the total 63,000 seats by the aspirants seeking admission this year. After the release of DU first cutoff 2019 for the merit-based courses, the race to get admission in the top courses such as B.A. Programme, B.A. History (H), B.A. English (H), B.A. Political Science (H), and B.A. Economics (H) among other courses is witnessing cutting-edge competition among the aspirants. Around 2.58 lakh applicants are competing for around 62,000 seats available in the different colleges affiliated with the university. The list of top 10 courses for which thousands of applications were received in DU has announced super high cut-offs. In the first cut-off, Hindu has raised the bar for the aspirants seeking admission in B.A. Political Science (H) with a 99% cut-off for the aspirants. Hindu is not the only college to make it tough for the aspirants to seek admission. B.A Psychology (Honours) was in high demand at Jesus and Mary College and the cut-off reached a staggering 99% for the aspirants. 

As per the UG admission for merit-based courses, the official portal of Delhi University says that maximum applications have been filled by the candidates passing their 10+2 from the CBSE board. Out of the total applicants, 1.29 lakh applicants are female candidates and 1.28 lakhs are male applicants. Last year, the number of applications received was more than this year i.e. 2.78 lakh applications against 56,000 seats. However, this year, around 2.58 lakh applicants are competing for around 62,000 seats available in the different colleges affiliated with DU. If we see in relative terms, the number of applicants versus the number of seats available ratio is better than last year.

DU Admissions 2021: Top Courses & Cut-offs

Maximum candidates have opted for the BA programme courses this year with the highest numbers of applications being filed for the B.A. (Hons.) English. Economics (124538), B.A. (Hons.) History (120590), B.A. (Hons.) Psychology (112312), B.A. (Hons.) Journalism (112233) and B.Com (106549) among other courses.
